Sarah Becker, a former cast member on MTV’s The Real World Season 5, has tragically passed away at the age of 52. She was best known for her appearance on the reality series set in Miami. According to TMZ, Becker died by suicide at her home in Illinois earlier this week, as confirmed by her family.
Becker’s friends and family took to social media to remember her and express their grief over her passing. Daniel Norton posted on Facebook, saying, “Sarah Becker was made of pure sunshine… Full of energy and positivity, you couldn’t help but feel her warmth standing in her presence. I am grateful for our adventures and laughs. Big hugs to all the Wildstorm fam!”
Another friend of Becker shared memories of her on Facebook, describing her as one of the nicest people they had ever known. They reminisced about her smile and bubbly personality, expressing love and grief over her passing.
In recent months, Becker had been struggling with mental health issues and had also been involved in a skateboarding accident. Her last Facebook post, dated June 14, asked for dentist recommendations.
On The Real World: Miami, Becker described herself as a “19-year-old trapped in a 25-year-old body.” She famously brought home a puppy named Leroy during the season. Her co-stars on the show included Dan Renzi, Melissa Padrón, Joe Patane, Cynthia Roberts, Flora Alekseyeun, and Mike Lambert. Becker’s passing has left a void in the hearts of those who knew her, and she will be missed by many.
