According to a report from The Athletic, NBA free agency begins on Sunday and Klay Thompson, a star for the Golden State Warriors, is expected to explore other options. Despite being with the Warriors since the beginning of his NBA career, having been drafted as the No. 11 overall pick in the first round of the 2011 NBA Draft, Thompson is not expected to re-sign with the team.

Thompson has won four championships and was named an All-Star five times during his 11 seasons with the Warriors. In 2019, he signed a five-year, $189.9 million contract with the team after recovering from an ACL injury sustained during the NBA Finals earlier that year. Unfortunately, Thompson missed the following two seasons due to injuries.

Last season, Thompson averaged 17.9 points per game in 77 appearances, with 14 of those games coming off the bench. This was a change for Thompson, who had not come off the bench since his rookie season. With Thompson’s impending free agency, the basketball world eagerly awaits to see where this talented player will end up next.
