Prime Video’s international hit, Maxton Hall – The World Between Us, has been renewed for a second season after becoming the streamer’s most-watched foreign series within its first week. The YA show, produced by UFA Fiction, is set in a British boarding school and has gained significant popularity worldwide.

Maxton Hall achieved a record-breaking first-week viewership for an International Original on Prime Video, leading to its renewal for a second season. The series topped the charts on Prime Video in more than 120 countries and territories, and remains in the top three in over 50 countries including the U.S., UK, Mexico, Brazil, Australia, Canada, and South Africa.

Based on Mona Kasten’s Save You and featuring Damian Hardung and Harriet Herbig-Matten, the show revolves around Ruby who witnesses a shocking secret at Maxton Hall private school. The story follows the wealthy James Beaufort as he navigates his complicated relationship with Ruby, a scholarship student. As they risk everything to be together, the series explores themes of love, power, and privilege.

James Farrell from Amazon’s MGM Studio highlighted the global appeal of local stories showcased in series like Maxton Hall during his statement about other international shows such as France’s Medellin and Spain’s Culpa Mia and Reina Roja which have captivated audiences worldwide.

UFA producer Ceylan Yildirim expressed excitement over the overwhelming positive reactions to the series initially created for the German market but gained international acclaim through Prime Video’s support. Yildirim credited the platform for sharing the show with audiences worldwide and generating enthusiastic responses.
