Vice President Kamala Harris has announced new regulations for federally funded nursing homes aimed at improving the quality of care provided. Meanwhile, representatives from Erie’s top three health systems are set to participate in a healthcare job fair next Monday, showcasing a range of careers in the field.

The Healthcare Career Expo will take place at the Bayfront Convention Center from 2-7 p.m., and will include UPMC Hamot and Saint Vincent Hospital, as well as around 30 other local healthcare employers. The event is organized by the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine and will feature discussions on available healthcare positions in Erie, including opportunities for licensed practical nurses, registered nurses, therapists, dietitians, radiology technicians, counselors, and social workers.

In addition to information about healthcare jobs, attendees will also have the chance to speak with professionals about finance, real estate, and insurance. The job fair is free to attend and will offer refreshments and raffles for participants.
