The Brooklyn Nets are currently focused on improving and making it back to the playoffs next season. One of their priorities is re-signing free-agent center Nic Claxton, and they may also be considering a trade for a player who could help with their rebuild.

There are several players that the Nets could potentially target this summer in order to strengthen their team for the upcoming season or for the future. One player that the Nets may have their eye on is San Antonio Spurs small forward Keldon Johnson. While there have been no reports of the Spurs actively shopping Johnson, anything is possible in the NBA.

Johnson, who is 24 years old, had a solid season in 2023-24, averaging 15.7 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game. Despite his contributions, Johnson saw a shift in his role this past season, starting in only 27 of the 69 games he played. The Spurs may be looking to add more young talent to their roster with the fourth and eighth overall picks in the upcoming draft, which could potentially make Johnson available for a trade.

If Johnson becomes available, the Nets could be interested in pursuing him as a valuable addition to their team. While nothing is certain at this point, it will be interesting to see how the offseason plays out for both the Nets and the Spurs. Ultimately, the goal for both teams is to make moves that will help them improve and compete at a high level in the upcoming season.
