Since the signing of receiver Odell Beckham Jr. four weeks ago, he has not yet joined his teammates on the practice field. Despite being present for mandatory minicamp, the team has decided to keep him out of team drills for the time being. Coach Mike McDaniel explained that they are taking a measured approach to get to know Beckham, develop a relationship with him and adjust to his body on his timeline in order to have a mutually beneficial and communicative relationship while ensuring his health.

Receiver Jaylen Waddle has confirmed that Beckham has not been practicing with him or Tyreek Hill. Waddle, who is making $28.25 million per year, expressed excitement about playing alongside players he admired when he was in high school. Waddle, now considered a head honcho in the league, has been nicknamed “28” by both Hill and Beckham.

Hill jokingly came up with the nickname, referencing the amount of money Waddle makes per year. However, Waddle should respond by calling Hill “25” to reference the fact that while Hill is said to make $30 million per year, the figure is inflated by a $45 million compensation package in 2026. This drove the new-money average artificially higher than the real number.
