The Tennessee Vols and Texas A&M Aggies are set to face off in the College World Series title game. As the No. 1 team in the SEC with a record of 58-12, the Vols will go up against the No. 3 Aggies, who boast a record of 52-13. The final series will begin on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET and be broadcast on ESPN, marking the third time in three seasons that two SEC teams have competed for the national championship, ensuring that an SEC team will be crowned champions for the fifth consecutive year.

Tennessee’s journey to the title game began with a thrilling win over Florida State, followed by victories over North Carolina and Florida State again. This marks the first time in program history that the Vols have started their run at the CWS with a 2-0 record. Meanwhile, Texas A&M had an eventful path to get to this point, including standout plays such as a game-saving catch by right fielder Jace LaViolette and wins over Florida, Kentucky, and Florida again. This will be Texas A&M’s first appearance in CWS finals history.

The College World Series schedule for this weekend is as follows: On Saturday at 7:30 p.m., Texas A&M will face off against Tennessee, while on Sunday at 2 p.m., Tennessee will take on Texas A&M once more before they potentially play again for Game 3 on Monday at 7 p.m., if necessary. Tony Vitello is currently head coach of Tennessee after previously serving as an assistant coach under Jim Schlossnagle at Texas Christian from 2011-13 when Schlossnagle was coaching Texas A&M.
