Akshay Bhatia and Aaron Rai are currently tied for the lead at the Rocket Mortgage Classic in Detroit. Both golfers have been performing exceptionally well, with Rai having two career wins on the DP World Tour and Bhatia being an American contender.

Despite their strong performance, the lead of Rai and Bhatia was cut down to just one shot as Cameron Davis and Cameron Young shot five under and six under respectively to take joint third place on 16 under. Additionally, Sam Stevens from America and Erik van Rooyen from South Africa are just one shot further back. Luke Clanton, an amateur, also remains in contention after carding a seven-under-par 65.

With just three strokes separating the top nine players heading into the final round, the competition is tight and anyone could emerge as the winner. Bhatia acknowledged that there are many strong contenders in the tournament and emphasized the need to stay focused in order to claim victory. Rai’s experience on the tour could give him an edge as he aims for another win at the Rocket Mortgage Classic.
