Gambia forward Yankuba Minteh is on the verge of joining Brighton in a £33m deal. The 19-year-old, who spent last season on loan with Dutch club Feyenoord, has been given permission to negotiate personal terms with the Seagulls as he looks to make a move within the Premier League. Despite interest from other clubs such as Lyon in France and Everton, Brighton’s agreement with Newcastle for Minteh would be a significant development for both clubs.

Newcastle is looking to sell at least one major player by the end of June to avoid potential Premier League profit and sustainability regulations. Minteh’s impressive performance at Feyenoord, where he scored 10 goals in 27 league games and netted against Celtic in the Champions League, has caught the attention of several clubs. Talks with Everton regarding a potential swap deal involving Minteh and Everton’s England striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin fell through, leading Minteh to lean towards a move to Brighton. If the deal goes through, it would mark a new chapter in Minteh’s young career as he seeks to establish himself in the Premier League.
