Over the past year, Texas has experienced significant growth in its economy, with Governor Greg Abbott announcing record-breaking numbers for total jobs, residents working, and the state’s labor force. According to data from the Texas Workforce Commission for May, the state reached new highs for its labor force, number of working Texans, and total jobs. In May alone, Texas added 41,800 non-farm jobs, bringing the total to 14,195,600 jobs.

Governor Abbott attributes this success to the state’s strong business climate, growing workforce, and emphasis on investing in the future. He expressed confidence in Texas’s ability to continue leading the nation in job growth and economic prosperity. In his statement, he highlighted the state as a hub for innovation and technological advancements where products are made today and tomorrow’s technologies are born.

Over the past year, Texas has added 316,700 jobs at a growth rate of 2.3%, outpacing the national average by half a point. May also marked the 47th month out of the last 49 months with job growth in Texas. This impressive record of job growth has made Texas an attractive place for businesses to invest and create new jobs. The state is on track to build a bigger and better future for its residents for decades to come.
