Texas A&M is on the brink of making history with one win away from its first-ever Men’s College World Series title. The Aggies secured a 9-5 victory over Tennessee in Game 1 of the MCWS championship series at Charles Schwab Field, bringing them closer to the school’s first national championship in a major men’s sport since 1939.

Kaeden Kent, Texas A&M’s second baseman, was a standout player in the game, with three hits and four RBIs, including a crucial two-run homer in the seventh inning to seal the win. The Aggies displayed a strong offensive performance, tallying 13 hits and scoring their highest number of runs in four MCWS games.

With a record of 53-13, the No. 3 seed Aggies have remained flawless throughout the NCAA tournament, winning nine consecutive postseason games since their loss to Tennessee in the SEC tournament on May 23. Coach Jim Schlossnagle praised his team’s performance, highlighting their timely hitting and quality at-bats against tough pitchers.

Despite their impressive Game 1 victory, Schlossnagle emphasized the importance of focusing on the next game and not getting ahead of themselves. The team still needs to win another game to clinch the series and secure their first national title. The Aggies are determined to maintain their momentum and finish strong in the Men’s College World Series.
