The Texas A&M Aggies advanced to the next round of the Men’s College World Series in Omaha after defeating the Kentucky Wildcats 5-1 on Monday. Designated hitter Hayden Schott drove in two runs to start the scoring, followed by Ali Camarillo and Kaeden Kent adding runs to bring the total to 5-1 in favor of Texas A&M. Pitcher Ryan Prager had a no-hitter going until the seventh inning when a base hit disrupted his dominance.

With their victory, Texas A&M will face either Kentucky or Florida on Thursday, while Kentucky will play off against Florida in a loser-goes-home matchup on Tuesday. ESPN will be covering both games live, and Texas A&M currently boasts a 2-0 record in the CWS double-elimination tournament.

Despite facing adversity with injuries to key players such as star player Braden Montgomery and pitcher Shane Sdao, the Texas A&M baseball team has rallied together and made it to the College World Series. Local product Jace LaViolette made a game-changing play that helped secure their spot in the series.

Looking ahead, left-hander Ryan Prager will lead Texas A&M’s pitching staff and shut down their opponents at Omaha. Behind him, Memorial High School product Jackson Appel will guide three pitchers to a combined 16 strikeouts in a recent win over Florida. The team is determined to overcome any challenges that come their way and emerge victorious as champions at this year’s College World Series.
