Tesla is recalling over 11,000 Cybertrucks due to concerns about the pickup’s large windscreen wiper and trunk-bed trim. The automaker is also issuing a separate recall for an issue with the Cybertruck’s trunk-bed trim, marking another setback for Elon Musk’s innovative pickup truck.

According to regulators, Tesla will replace wiper motors on all affected vehicles to prevent potential damage and malfunctions due to “electrical overstress.” The recall affects model year 2024 Cybertrucks produced from November 13, 2023, to June 6, 2024, with an estimated 2% of vehicles being affected.

In addition to the wiper recall, Tesla is also recalling 11,383 Cybertrucks due to concerns about improperly attached trim in the trunk bed. These recalls come after reports in June indicated delays in Cybertruck deliveries due to wiper problems, with some owners reporting issues with the single large windscreen wiper.

While Tesla has not reported any accidents, injuries, or fatalities related to the wiper or trim faults, these recalls are the latest challenges for the Cybertruck. The pickup truck has been notoriously difficult for Tesla to design and manufacture, with previous recalls issued for an accelerator flaw affecting almost every Cybertruck shipped to customers.
