On the grass courts of Nottingham, Dan Evans and Henry Searle engaged in a two-hour battle for supremacy. The match was closely contested, with Evans emerging victorious in a hard-fought 7-6 (7-4) 7-6 (7-5) victory over Searle.

Both players held their serves in the opening set, leading to an intense tie-break which Evans clinched with an ace. In the second set, Searle managed to break Evans’ serve and took the lead. However, Evans fought back, saving break points and eventually breaking Searle’s serve to level the set. The match culminated in a second-set tie-break where Evans maintained his composure and secured the win.

Evans praised Searle’s performance, acknowledging his potential as a future star in tennis. Despite facing a tough opponent, Evans was pleased to advance to the next round of the Nottingham Open. As he continues to compete on grass courts in preparation for Wimbledon, he has demonstrated strong form with three wins in four matches.

Meanwhile, British tennis players Katie Boulter and Heather Watson are also gearing up for competitive matches against tough opponents at Nottingham and Stuttgart respectively.
