The Baker School District in Baker City has announced that Bob Duker and Matt Duman will be taking over the Technology Department starting June 1. The district has hired Chaves Consulting to provide staff for the department. Bob Duker will be the Systems Administrator, while Matt Duman will serve as Team Lead.

Duman has been with the district’s Technology Department for nearly 2.5 years and will oversee summer projects, particularly those related to safety and security for the school buildings. As systems administrator, Duker will ensure that all technology systems are running smoothly and efficiently.

Baker School District is a nationally recognized district that serves 1,700 students locally in Baker City and an additional 3,000 online students across Oregon. The district aims to create an innovative educational foundation for future Oregonians through collaborative efforts. Strong partnerships with local partners are believed to create vibrant communities that foster lifelong learners. Superintendent Betty Palmer expressed gratitude for the expertise of the outgoing Justin Crego and looks forward to working with Duker and Duman to further the district’s vision, mission, and goals in leveraging technology.
