However, it is worth noting that this patent appears to have expired in October 2022, according to Bloomberg Law estimates. Despite the patent expiration, the lawsuit still claims that TCL has unlawfully incorporated the patented technology into their smartphone cameras.
The ‘605 patent specifically deals with “camera arrangements with backlighting detection,” which is said to improve the quality of images. C47 contends that the technology and method covered in the patent are being utilized in TCL’s products without authorization.
