The highly anticipated second semi-final of the T20 World Cup between India and England is set to take place at the Providence Stadium in Guyana on Thursday. While India, led by Rohit Sharma, is looking forward to reaching their first T20 World Cup final since 2014 after a convincing victory over Australia in their last Super Eight match, memories of their crushing defeat by England in the semi-finals of the last edition are still fresh in their minds.

Unfortunately, the weather forecast for Guyana on Thursday does not look promising, with thunder showers expected to change into heavy showers by late morning. There is a 60 per cent chance of rain predicted, raising concerns about the possibility of a washout in the crucial match.

If the India vs England semi-final is washed out, there is no reserve day scheduled. However, an additional 250 minutes have been allocated to complete the fixture beyond the usual cut-off period. A minimum of 10 overs in each innings is required to constitute a match for the semi-finals and final.

In case of bad weather conditions or other reasons that cannot be resolved through play or time extension, if both teams are unable to complete 10 overs each in normal time and a Super Over is not possible, then whichever team finished first in its Super Eight group will advance directly to the final round.
