The outcome of the last group game between Bangladesh and Afghanistan will determine whether Australia makes it to the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup 2024. To make it to the semi-finals, Australia needs Bangladesh to defeat Afghanistan by less than 62 runs if Bangladesh bats first, or for Afghanistan to chase down a total of 141 in 12.4 overs or less.

On Monday night, Bangladesh will need a big win to surpass Australia’s net run rate of -0.331. A win by 62 or more runs, or a chase of 141 in 12.3 overs or earlier, will propel Bangladesh to second place on the points table and secure their spot in the semi-finals. Meanwhile, Afghanistan only needs a win to secure second place in the group and advance to the next round.

If Bangladesh wins with a margin of at least 62 runs, they will be placed in second place on the points table, while Australia will be knocked out of contention for a spot in the semi-finals. If they lose with a margin of less than 62 runs, both teams will end up tied on points and their head-to-head record will be used as a tiebreaker.

The matches are set to take place at Tarouba and Providence respectively with India taking on England in one semifinal match while South Africa faces off against any team that finishes second from this group except Australia.
