Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone has once again set a new world record, this time at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials held at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon. The reigning Olympic champion in the 400m hurdles reached an impressive time of 50.65, surpassing her previous world record of 50.68 set at the World Championships two years ago on the same track.

At the European Championships earlier in June, McLaughlin-Levrone outshined her Dutch rival Femke Bol’s time of 52.49. From start to finish, McLaughlin-Levrone led with determination and composure, capturing the attention and support of the crowd during the 10-day championships.

After her incredible performance, McLaughlin-Levrone expressed her gratitude and surprise at achieving such a feat. She acknowledged that it was through hard work and dedication that she was able to reach this result.

Fellow athletes Anna Cockrell and Jasmine Jones secured second and third place respectively, both of whom will also be heading to Paris alongside McLaughlin-Levrone for the upcoming Olympic Games.

McLaughlin-Levrone emphasized that she remains committed to exploring different strategies and approaches to running the race with a mindset focused on improvement and constantly challenging herself on the track.

As she waits for World Athletics’ confirmation, McLaughlin-Levrone’s exceptional achievement has set a new standard in the world of track and field athletics.
