Marcus Pettersson, a 27-year-old defenseman for the Pittsburgh Penguins, has been selected to represent Sweden in the upcoming IIHF World Championship tournament in May. The Swedish Ice Hockey Federation made the announcement on Tuesday, adding Pettersson and Seattle Kraken forward Andre Burakovsky to their roster. The tournament will take place in Czechia from May 10-26.

Pettersson has previously represented Sweden in international competitions, including the IIHF World Championship tournaments in 2019 and 2022. This season, he achieved career highs in goals, assists, points, and average ice time per game while playing all 82 games for the Penguins.
