Luke Williams, head coach of Swansea City, has expressed his desire to reduce the number of temporary signings in the upcoming season. This comes after the team used six loan players in their squad last season, including Carl Rushworth from Brighton, Jamal Lowe from Bournemouth, Harrison Ashby from Newcastle United, Bashir Humphreys from Chelsea, Charlie Patino from Arsenal and Charles Sagoe Jr also from Arsenal who joined in January.

Financial constraints and the availability of young Premier League talents on loan mean that loan players are still likely to be part of Swansea’s 2024-25 squad. However, the plan is to focus more on permanent signings during the current transfer window. Swansea’s head coach acknowledges the benefits of the loan market but aims to avoid having as many as six loan players in the squad this time around.

Williams told BBC Sport Wales that while they may still bring in loan players if necessary, the goal is to have significantly fewer compared to last season. This approach reflects Swansea’s intention to build a more stable and consistent squad for the upcoming campaign.
