League of Legends, a popular MOBA for PC, is getting a new game mode. Swarm | Operation: Anima Squad will debut during the summer event, which first appeared in 2022 and returns this year with a twist. Players can team up with up to three friends and select members of the Anima Squad to battle invading Abyssal creatures known as the Primordians on the Final City map.
The event offers a new bullet heaven survivor gaming experience with cooperative PvE gameplay. Players can explore the map using the WASD control system, defeat enemies, complete missions, and strive to survive as long as possible. Throughout the battles, players can unlock and upgrade weapons and new squad members, allowing for different strategies to tackle the enemy swarms. Accumulated gold from each game can be used to purchase permanent upgrades, providing advantages in future operations.
The Anima Squad event runs from July 17th to August 19th. New champion skins such as Battle Dove Seraphine and Primal Aatrox (legendary) will be introduced during the event. Prestige editions of Cybernetic Kitten Yuumi and Battle Lioness Leona are also available, along with a variety of other cybernetic and animal-inspired skins. Additionally, a new champion named Aurora will be introduced. Aurora is a Vastaya from the Freljord known as the Witch Between Worlds who has unique abilities that allow her to see the veil between material and spiritual realms. She is versatile with flexible gameplay options suitable for both top and mid lane positions. Her “spirit mode” adds a new dynamic to the game, providing players with fresh strategies to explore.
