UC Irvine Sports Camps provide a summer program for children that goes beyond just fun. Participants have the opportunity to engage in a variety of sports such as baseball, basketball, soccer, tennis, track and field, volleyball, and water polo, all led by experienced NCAA Division I coaches and athletes. These camps not only focus on sports training but also incorporate essential life skills development.
Gerald D. Parham, the director of program development at UCI Intercollegiate Athletics, explained what sets these summer camps apart. The philosophy behind UCI sports camps is to instill lifelong values through sports. The CLEAR Academy, which stands for Character, Leadership, Education, Advocacy, and Responsibility, forms the foundation of these programs. By nurturing these qualities from a young age, children are able to make better decisions as they grow.
