The Science Fair recently took place at Libby Middle High School, featuring seventh and eighth-grade students. Held for about 20 years at the school, this year’s event was deemed a success by eighth-grade teacher Shannon Ostrowski and seventh-grade teacher Bill Moe.

Eighth-grade students presented outstanding science fair projects that demonstrated their science literacy skills. These projects were judged based on three main criteria: scientific inquiry and experimental design, presentation skills, and creativity, neatness, and organization of project display boards.

The top 10 projects from the eighth-grade students showcased a range of topics such as thermodynamics, wind patterns, and scientific solutions. Each project was unique and reflected the students’ hard work and creativity. Meanwhile, seventh-grade students participated in the Festival of Montana where they researched a specific Montana county for their Montana History Project. They presented population graphs, essays, details, mascots, and colorful boards for their chosen counties.

Overall, the Science Fair and Festival of Montana provided students with an opportunity to showcase their knowledge, research skills, and creativity. The judges were impressed by the students’ dedication and passion for science and history, making it a successful event for all involved.
