On July 18th, Uiltrasporti and other trade union organizations involved in the autoferrotranvieri-internavigatori collective bargaining agreement will be striking for 4 hours. This decision was made due to the lack of commitment from the employers’ associations to find serious solutions that address the needs of female workers during negotiations for the renewal of the national LPT contract.

According to Uiltrasporti, the employers’ associations have put forth unacceptable proposals that aim to tighten working conditions in the sector. Despite efforts to keep discussions open and constructive, the lack of willingness from the counterparts to renew the Ccnl with an economic increase in line with the cost of living has left the trade union organizations with no choice but to proceed with strike action.

The demands for greater safety, better work-life balance, and adequate wages are not unreasonable requests but rather fair demands that need to be addressed. The renewal of the Ccnl is seen as a fundamental right for workers in a sector that plays a crucial role in the lives and economy of citizens. The trade union organizations believe that the current stalemate is holding back progress towards a better quality of work for all involved.
