The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries experienced a mixed performance in the stock market for the week. While some markets rose, others fell. In Abu Dhabi, the market index increased by 0.59% to close at 9090.39 points, while Dubai’s market index saw a 0.73% increase, closing at 4173.04 points. On the other hand, Saudi Arabia’s market index fell by 0.6% to close at 12,284 points compared to the previous week’s close at 12,352 points.
In Kuwait, the general market index rose by 0.53% to close at 7081.05 points, up from last week’s closing at 7043.71 points. Bahrain’s Bahrain General Index increased by just 0.04% in five sessions and closed at 2029.41 points compared to last week’s close at 2028.58 points. The Qatar Stock Exchange index saw a slight rise of just over 0% within five sessions and closed at an impressive height of 9633.04 points compared to last week’s close of 9616; this is an increase of about one percent overall but it is still considered mixed performance for the region as a whole
