In 2023, the Rams created waves in the football world by selecting Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett in the fourth round of the draft. However, Bennett was soon placed on the non-football injury/illness list early in the season and was unable to play for the remainder of the year. Despite this setback, Bennett has now returned to the team for OTAs, and Coach Sean McVay recently spoke to reporters about his comeback.

McVay expressed his appreciation for Bennett’s work ethic since rejoining the team, noting that he has been attentive in meetings and has shown great improvement under quarterbacks coach Dave Ragone. Bennett’s command and ability to communicate have been impressive, and he has had a few solid practices since returning to the field.

With current backup Jimmy Garoppolo suspended for the first two games of the upcoming season, the Rams need Bennett to step up and continue developing his skills. The only other option at quarterback is Dresser Winn, so Bennett’s presence on the team is crucial for depth and stability at the position. Additionally, Bennett could potentially be an option to succeed Matthew Stafford whenever the time comes for a new starting quarterback. The Rams are counting on Bennett to continue improving and contributing to the team’s success moving forward.
