At the age of 31, veteran wide receiver Sterling Shepard has officially signed with a new NFL team. According to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, Shepard will be joining the Buccaneers. During his time with the Giants, Shepard established himself as one of the most reliable and consistent receivers in the league. However, after eight seasons with the team, he has decided to move on and try his hand at a new challenge.

Shepard will have some familiar faces in Tampa Bay, including former Oklahoma teammate Baker Mayfield, who is now the Buccaneers quarterback. Mayfield was Shepard’s No. 1 wide receiver during his senior year at Oklahoma in 2015. Despite playing in just 15 games last season for the Giants, Shepard only caught 10 passes for 57 yards. This led some to question whether he had anything left in the tank and whether he was still able to perform at a high level in the NFL.

Despite these concerns, Shepard remains confident that he can still contribute to a winning team. He believes that his existing rapport with Mayfield may give him an advantage as he competes for a spot on the roster in Tampa Bay. With Mayfield under center and Shepard as his top target, this could be an exciting new chapter for both players in their NFL careers.
