The Steelers are readying themselves for the upcoming season with a fresh set of faces and a new starting quarterback. George Pickens and Calvin Austin III are returning players from last year, but the team has also welcomed four new additions to the mix. Quez Watkins, Van Jefferson, Scotty Miller, and third-round pick Roman Wilson will all be vying for playing time alongside the holdovers.

Diontae Johnson and Allen Robinson have moved on from the team this offseason, leaving behind a significant number of targets. However, Watkins sees this as an opportunity to step up and make an impact on the team. He is excited about the possibility of filling in a larger role and is ready to compete for it. Watkins believes that the changes in the receiver position offer him a chance to potentially become a No. 2 receiver or whatever role the team needs him to fill.

While there have been rumors that the Steelers might be interested in trading for a receiver, they haven’t made any major moves yet. If Watkins and the other new additions can prove themselves during training camp, it’s likely that the team will stick with their current roster. This season promises to bring changes and new opportunities for the Steelers’ receiving corps.
