The Steelers have added another running back to their group this week with the signing of La’Mical Perine. This announcement comes after Jonathan Ward also joined the team earlier in the week. Perine will now be joining Najee Harris, Jaylen Warren, and Cordarrelle Patterson in the Steelers backfield group.

Perine brings experience from his time with the Chiefs, where he played in three regular season games and three postseason games last year. During the regular season, he ran 22 times for 77 yards and caught three passes for 33 yards. However, he did not see any action during the playoffs. Perine was originally a fourth-round pick by the Jets in 2020 and had a decent season with 263 yards and two touchdowns on 72 carries in 14 games.

With the addition of Perine, the Steelers are looking to strengthen their running back group and add depth to their roster as they prepare for the upcoming season. It will be interesting to see how Perine fits into the team and contributes to their offense moving forward.
