On Monday, the Steelers made some roster moves, adding depth to their offense and defense. They signed first-round pick Troy Fautanu and wide receiver Jaray Jenkins. In a corresponding move, defensive back Luq Barcoo was waived with an injury designation.

Fautanu, who was the team’s first-round pick in 2023, is expected to play a big role in improving the Steelers’ defense this season. The team is hopeful that his addition will help them compete for a championship in 2024.

Jenkins, on the other hand, spent the preseason with the Jaguars where he had two catches for 32 yards. However, he did not make the final cut to 53 players. Barcoo was on Pittsburgh’s practice squad last year and played in three games for the Jaguars in 2020, recording 10 tackles and one pass defensed.

The Steelers are working hard to build a competitive roster for the upcoming season and these roster moves are a step in that direction. With Fautanu providing depth to their defense and Jenkins bolstering their offense at wide receiver, they are looking forward to competing at a high level next year.
