Dasun Shanaka led Sri Lanka to a 41-run victory over Ireland in their T20 World Cup warm-up match in Florida. With a total of 163-8, Sri Lanka posted the highest score of the game, with Angelo Mathews leading the way with an unbeaten 32.

Ireland started well, with Andrew Balbirnie and skipper Paul Stirling putting on 39 runs for the opening wicket. However, quick wickets fell and Shanaka sealed the win for Sri Lanka by taking four wickets.

Josh Little and Barry McCarthy also took two wickets each as Sri Lanka bowled out Ireland for 122, securing victory by 41 runs. Curtis Camper was the top-scorer for Ireland with 26 runs. This match served as Ireland’s final warm-up match before their T20 World Cup opener against India on Wednesday.

Sri Lanka starts their campaign against South Africa at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium on Long Island two days earlier. Dasun Shanaka’s impressive bowling performance helped Sri Lanka secure the win and build momentum heading into the tournament.
