The Spokane Regional Health District (SRHD) has recently launched an interactive respiratory illness dashboard that provides valuable insights into COVID-19, flu, and RSV trends in Spokane County. This new tool builds upon the previous COVID-19 dashboard by including data for flu and RSV.

The dashboard sources information from various systems such as the Electronic Surveillance System for the Early Notification of Community-Based Epidemics and the Washington State Disease Reporting System. Its goal is to increase awareness of respiratory illness activity, identify the beginning of respiratory illness season, and aid in decision-making regarding infection control policies.

Mark Springer, Communicable Disease Investigation and Prevention Manager at SRHD, stated that the dashboard allows them to communicate vital information directly to the community. By showcasing illness trends and virus levels in wastewater, organizations and individuals can make informed decisions that may help save lives. The dashboard can be accessed by visiting srhd.org/respiratory-illness-dashboard.

As a leading public health partner in the region, SRHD is dedicated to protecting, improving, and promoting the health and well-being of all individuals through evidence-based practices. Serving as one of 34 local public health agencies in Washington state, SRHD continually works towards making Spokane a safer and healthier community.
