Sam Schott, a former Spring Hill Panther, had an outstanding performance as UT-Tyler improved to 2-0 in the Division II World Series. As the leadoff batter and starting left fielder, Schott contributed two RBI by going 1-for-3 at the plate with two walks. In the second inning, Schott drew a bases loaded walk to drive in a run. She walked again in the fourth inning but was unfortunately thrown out at second base on a fielder’s choice. However, Schott came up clutch in the seventh inning with a single that brought another run and extended UT-Tyler’s lead over Western Washington to 10-0.

With this victory, UT-Tyler now holds a season record of 55-8. Their next game is scheduled for Wednesday at 1:30 p.m., and fans are eagerly watching to see if Schott and her teammates can continue their winning streak in the World Series. Copyright 2024 KLTV. All rights reserved.
