In a statement on its blog, Spotify has announced that it will increase the prices of its Premium subscription service in the United States for the second year in a row. This means that users will now have to pay up to three dollars more for the family plan. The streaming audio platform last adjusted its subscription prices in July of last year in various countries, including the United States and Spain.

Starting from July, individual Premium plan subscribers will pay $11.99 per month, up from the current price of $10.99. The Premium Duo plan for two accounts in the same household will increase to $16.99 per month, and the Family plan for up to six cohabiting accounts will increase to $19.99 per month. Despite this price increase, the subscription price for students will remain at $5.99.

The price updates will only apply to Premium users in the United States, who will receive an email this month explaining the changes and will start paying the new rates in July. According to Spotify’s blog post, this increase is necessary to continue investing in and innovating the platform’s features to provide users with the best experience possible.
