Two standout athletes from New York state, Mike Hart from Onondaga and Greg Paulus from Christian Brothers Academy, have been chosen as members of the New York State High School Athletic Association’s Hall of Fame Class of 2024. The induction ceremony will take place on July 31 at The Hyatt Long Island East End in Riverhead.

Mike Hart was a legendary football player who led his teams to three state championships and an impressive 46-1 record from 2000-03. He set multiple records during his high school career, including most yards in a season (3,489), most yards in a career (11,045), most 100-yard rushing games (47), most touchdowns in a season (67), and most touchdowns in a career (204). After his high school success, he went on to play college football at Michigan, where he continued to excel. Hart was later drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in the NFL draft and played three seasons, including a Super Bowl appearance in 2010.

Greg Paulus was an outstanding quarterback and point guard at Christian Brothers Academy. He led his team to a state football title and set new records for most touchdowns (152) and most yards (11,760) in a career, along with most yards in a season (3,677). Paulus also had success on the basketball court, earning all-state honors four times and being named New York State Mr. Basketball. After high school, he attended Duke on a full scholarship, where he was the starting point guard and achieved significant success. Paulus later played one season as the starting quarterback for Syracuse University before transitioning to coaching, currently serving as the head basketball coach at Niagara.
