The 60th anniversary of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue was marked by a celebration of womanhood and empowerment. The magazine brought together legends to grace the cover, including Lily Aldridge and Molly Sims.

The magazine released solo covers as well as three collectible covers featuring the SI legends. Roshumba Williams, who has worked with Sports Illustrated since 1989 and has appeared in the magazine multiple times, shared her excitement at finally being featured on a cover after years of hard work.

Inclusion is a priority at Sports Illustrated, with the models on the cover praising editor-in-chief MJ Day for embracing diversity and seeing the beauty in all women. Tyra Banks, one of the first black women to be featured on the cover, highlighted the magazine’s commitment to diversity long before it became a trend.

Hunter McGrady echoed the sentiment, praising MJ Day’s efforts in representing diversity in the magazine and inspiring others to see themselves reflected in its pages. The Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue is now available for everyone to enjoy and celebrate the beauty and diversity of women.
