Italian coach Luciano Spalletti has unveiled the provisional 30-man squad for Euro 2024, which includes Arsenal midfielder Jorginho and Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario. The squad sees notable exclusions like Ciro Immobile and Marco Verratti. Verratti, who moved to Al-Arabi from Paris St-Germain, has not been called up by Spalletti since taking over from Roberto Mancini in August 2023.

Spalletti has also selected players like Nicolo Fagioli and Gianluca Scamacca in his initial squad. Fagioli, a Juventus midfielder, recently returned to action after serving a ban for breaching betting rules. Scamacca, who missed Italy’s friendlies in March, was included after winning the Europa League with Atalanta. The deadline for final squad submissions is 7 June. Italy will play friendlies against Turkey and Bosnia-Herzegovina before facing Albania in their Euro 2024 opener, with Spain and Croatia also in their group.

The provisional squad includes goalkeepers Gianluigi Donnarumma, Alex Meret, Ivan Provedel, and Guglielmo Vicario. Defenders like Francesco Acerbi, Alessandro Bastoni, and Matteo Darmian are also named. In midfield, players like Nicolo Barella, Bryan Cristante, Jorginho are included. The forward line features talents like Federico Chiesa
