The creative economy is a vital sector that contributes to economic growth and innovation. It encompasses various sectors such as arts, culture, entertainment, architecture, advertising, and technology. To highlight the importance of creativity in economic development, four organizations – Create Wisconsin, Prosperity Southwest, Lafeyette County Economic Development Corporation, and Green County Development Corporation (GCDC) – are hosting the Southwest Wisconsin Creative Economy Summit on June 19.

The summit will take place at the Monroe Arts Center located at 1315 11th Street in Monroe from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Participants from all backgrounds including local leaders, entrepreneurs, artists, elected officials, non-profit organizations, community groups, service clubs, educators, and more are encouraged to attend this event. The focus will be on discussing creative solutions and opportunities to help the region thrive.

The main objective of the summit is to bring together individuals from southwest Wisconsin who are actively involved in placemaking, community engagement, economic development, and workforce development. By emphasizing the role of arts and creativity in driving economic vitality
