The WBSC Men’s Softball World Cup is in full swing, and the schedule for Sunday’s playoffs of Group A has been released. Four teams will compete for the two available spots in next year’s Finals in Prince Albert, Canada.

The top four teams in Group A standings have advanced to Sunday’s playoffs. The two teams at the top of the standings will face off for a chance to secure their ticket to the Finals. The loser of this game will then play against the winner of the match between the third and fourth-placed teams to determine the second spot in the Finals.

Venezuela finished at the top of the standings with a perfect 5-0 record, while Mexico finished second with a 3-2 record. Both teams will compete at 17:00 at Mundialistas Hermosillenses Stadium, with Mexico facing off against Venezuela for a chance to win a spot in next year’s Finals.

Australia and Czechia finished third and fourth place respectively with a matching 2-3 record during Opening Round. They were ranked according to Team’s Quality Balance, introduced as new tiebreak system for softball events this year. Australia claimed fourth place while Czechia placed fifth place.

Australia and Mexico are set to face off against each other in an elimination game at 17:00 at Fernando Ortiz Stadium on Sunday. The winner of this game will face off against Venezuela or Dominican Republic for second spot in Finals scheduled for 21:00 at Fernando Ortiz stadium while Czechia will play Philippines for fifth place ranking set for 20:00 at Mundialistas Hermosillenses Stadium .
