Geater Machining and Manufacturing of Buchanan County has been recognized as the Small Business of the Week by U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), Ranking Member of the Senate Small Business Committee. The company’s dedication to producing top quality products and supporting the next generation of high-tech leaders in Iowa earned them this recognition.
Ernst said, “Over 61 years, three generations, and a great deal of hard work, the Geater family has built Geater Machining and Manufacturing into a remarkable small business with a global reach.”
Geater Machining and Manufacturing is committed to giving back to the community by offering student outreach opportunities such as an apprenticeship program, job shadowing, academic speakers, and more. Their products are used in equipment around the globe, most notably in helicopter radios used to transport the Navy SEAL team that killed Osama Bin Laden.
Ernst plans to recognize a small business in every one of Iowa’s 99 counties throughout this Congress. She said, “I’m proud to recognize this family and their team’s dedication to providing top quality products and supporting the next generation of high-tech leaders in Iowa.”
Stay tuned as Ernst recognizes more Iowa small businesses across the state with her Small Business of the Week award.
