In the second half of the EURO 2024 match between Slovakia and Ukraine, Oleksandr Zinchenko scored a goal for Ukraine, creating some tension in the game. The goal was a result of a quick throw and cross from Slovakia’s defense that caught Ukraine off guard. Zinchenko took advantage of the opportunity and scored with a header past Anatoliy Trubin to take Ukraine’s lead.

The scoreline remained tied until the 75th minute when Ivan Schranz once again struck for Slovakia, taking their lead over Ukraine. This marked Schranz’s third goal in the tournament and he became the top scorer for Slovakia. On the other hand, Rebrov’s decision to drop Andriy Lunin after a poor performance against Romania did not have the desired effect as Trubin failed to keep his end up in goal.

With just five minutes remaining on the clock, Ukraine was struggling to keep up with Slovakia’s attacks. However, they managed to pull level when Vitaliy Mykhaylichenko scored from a brilliant piece of play to tie things up at 2-2. As extra time kicked off, both teams were determined to win and advance to the round of 16.

In the end, it was Slovakia who emerged victorious as they secured their place in the knockout stages with a game to spare. However, Ukraine can be proud of their comeback effort and will look forward to competing in future European Championships.
