A recent study by Penn State researchers examined the sleep habits of 377 adolescents and found that those with a later sleep schedule were more likely to consume carbohydrates, engage in sedentary behavior, and have an increased risk for health issues. Even if they met their recommended sleep totals, these young people were still at risk for obesity and poor cardiometabolic health.
