The Memphis in May World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest is set to kick off on Wednesday with the first day featuring Barbecue Sauce Wrestling. The contest will run from June 15th to 18th, bringing together teams from over 22 states and five countries to compete for the title of the ‘Super Bowl of Swine’.
This year, the contest will take place at Liberty Park, a change from the usual venue at Tom Lee Park. Organizers anticipate a large turnout with thousands of people expected to attend the festival. Visitors can enjoy barbecue from four renowned barbecue restaurants, as well as sample offerings from the Kingsford Tour of Champions and BBQ Alley with Big Green Egg & Friends.
Tickets for the event can be purchased online for $25 or in-person on the day of the event for the same price. Single-day tickets are also available for $15.
