Jeff Dowtin’s team option for next season with the Sixers has not been picked up, according to a report by The Philadelphia Inquirer’s Keith Pompey. The 6-foot-3 point guard played 46 total NBA games and was a part of five different teams in his career.

Despite not being signed for next season, Dowtin had a standout performance during his time with the Sixers. He made 12 appearances and averaged 4.3 points and 2.3 assists in limited playing time. In one game against the Grizzlies, he recorded an impressive 10 points, six assists, three steals, and no turnovers. His performance on the court earned him praise from teammate Kelly Oubre Jr., who commended Dowtin’s composure and abilities.

In the G League, Dowtin had a successful season with the Delaware Blue Coats, averaging 19.1 points and 5.3 assists. His defensive skills and poise were highlighted as key strengths in his game by Oubre Jr., who expressed confidence in Dowtin’s ability to succeed in the NBA and encouraged him to continue working on his game and gaining more confidence.

The Sixers now have only Joel Embiid, Paul Reed, and Ricky Council IV under contract as they head into free agency. Both Reed and Council’s contracts are non-guaranteed, leaving the team with decisions to make as they look to build a competitive roster for next season
