On July 3rd, the All Request Mental Health Day is back! This special day is dedicated to mental health and music and is sponsored by CCLOU. You can call 502-814-WFPK (9375) to make a song request or email your request to studio@wfpk.org. Tune in from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. to listen to a full day of song requests.

It’s important to have resources available when dealing with mental health issues, and there are many options available. The National Suicide & Crisis Lifeline can be reached by calling or texting 9-8-8, while the Louisville Suicide Prevention Lifeline can be reached by texting LOU to 741741. Other resources include the Kentucky chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Seven Counties Services, Mental Health Lou, the Veterans Crisis and Military Crisis Line, the Kentucky Nurses Association, and more.

In addition to having resources available, it’s crucial to listen to others and understand their experiences if you have privilege. Take the time to educate yourself on racism and support Black people and people of color in your community as a way of fighting against it. #WFPKMentalHealthDay encourages everyone to join the conversation online and connect with WFPK on Facebook and Instagram for more information about mental health awareness.
