Huyen Trang, a 37-year-old KOL, and Hoang, a 48-year-old man who built his own company, both faced their own unique struggles with anxiety. While Hoang tried to reassure himself that “it will be fine,” he was unaware that he was suffering from an anxiety disorder. Over time, his business expanded and he traveled extensively for work, leading to feelings of isolation and struggles in silence. Despite putting on a strong facade and constantly proving himself through work, he found it difficult to sleep well at night and experienced fatigue.

On the other hand, Trang found herself confined to her room for six days, questioning whether she even wanted to live. She found solace in darkness, feeling comforted and less lonely in that environment. Despite appearing happy and cheerful on the outside, Trang admitted to feeling gloomy inside. Even though she tried to work to distract herself from her loneliness, her mental state deteriorated over time, leading to negative thoughts and avoidance of work.

Both Hoang and Trang were diagnosed with anxiety disorders by a psychologist. Dr. Tran Thi Hong Thu explained that successful individuals or those in high positions often neglect self-care due to their busy schedules and high-pressure environments. This can lead to burnout and trigger mental illness episodes. Anxiety disorders manifest in various ways such as feeling nervous or difficulty concentrating or obsessive thoughts about what others think or self-doubt. These symptoms can be hidden behind a neat exterior making it difficult for others to detect the internal struggles of individuals suffering from anxiety disorders
