In Colorado Springs, Blue Spruce Mercantile, a family-owned business, is struggling to cope with the aftermath of two recent thefts that occurred just a week apart. The owners are frustrated over the loss of over a thousand dollars worth of goods. The thieves stole from the store just as it was about to close for the day, walking out with carts full of items.

A week later, on May 9th, the same woman returned to the store with some accomplices. Surveillance footage captured two men leaving the store with more stolen items. The owner, Tareja Mitchem, estimates that the thieves got away with $1,400 worth of merchandise. The business was created to bless the community, and such thefts are a significant setback, especially during challenging times.

The cashier at Blue Spruce Mercantile expressed how scary and frustrating it is for a family-owned Christian business to be targeted in this way. Both employees and owners are hopeful that arrests will be made soon and are cooperating with the Colorado Springs Police who are actively investigating the incidents. No arrests have been made at this stage but the police are working towards identifying the suspects. Anyone with relevant information is encouraged to reach out to the authorities.
