A food poisoning incident occurred at Shinwon Ebenezer Co., Ltd., a Korean-invested garment production company located in Khai Quang Industrial Park, Vinh Yen City. On May 14, the company organized lunch for over 3,290 workers in two shifts. The first shift at 11:30 accommodated more than 1,000 workers, while the second shift at 12:30 had approximately 2,000 seats.

The company provided cooked meals for the employees, including stir-fried chicken with lemongrass and chili, broccoli, green bean soup, and pickles. Around 2:00 p.m., five workers began showing symptoms of stomach pain and nausea and were immediately taken to Lac Viet Vinh Yen Friendship Hospital for treatment.

Shortly after, more workers started experiencing similar symptoms, with those in the second shift reporting them an hour later. By 5:00 p.m., a total of 351 workers had stomach pain and nausea, with some being taken to different medical facilities for treatment. The Department of Health in Vinh Phuc province collected food and water samples to identify the cause of the food poisoning.

The incident has left Shinwon Ebenezer Co., Ltd., under investigation by authorities as they work with the company’s leaders and other relevant parties to address the situation. The Department of Health is conducting tests to determine the reason behind the food poisoning outbreak.

The Korean-invested garment production company is one of many businesses operating in Khai Quang Industrial Park in Vinh Yen City. The park is known for its modern infrastructure and attractive incentives that attract foreign investors to set up operations there.
