The Washington Wizards have made a significant trade with the Portland Trail Blazers, sending forward Deni Avdija to the Blazers in exchange for guard Malcolm Brogdon, the No.14 pick in the draft, a 2029 first-round pick, and two second-round picks, according to ESPN’s Wojnarowski report. In return, the Trail Blazers selected Pittsburgh guard Bub Carrington with the No.14 pick, who will now be joining the Wizards as part of the trade.

Avdija, who is 23 years old, had an impressive performance last season, starting 75 games and averaging 14.7 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game. He also shot an impressive 50.6% from the field and 37.4% from 3-point range. His numbers were career highs, and he even received votes for Most Improved Player of the Year. In Portland, he joins a young core of players like Scoot Henderson, Shaedon Sharpe, Anfernee Simons, and Deandre Ayton.
